10/31/2022 0 Comments Pico battery monitor![]() ![]() I wonder if there is a way of interfacing the two. But the BMV-712 has a great reputation, and as a critical measurement device for the most expensive subsystem, there is some value for me in having the battery monitor from same vendor as BMS/battery. I know Pico has the ability to monitor using their shunt. The day to day is monitoring and control of various sensors, and Pico's approach looks great for that, rather than the cluster of ugly/random looking panels and monitors that usually populate an RV.īattery monitoring & management is another question. ![]() Hooking up a laptop to a kludgy collection of interfaces to set things up is tolerable because it is infrequent. The Victron component configuration I see as a one-time system provisioning task, followed by occasional tweak & refine. Newer architectures are more SW centric, well thought out touch UI, and well partitioned using standard interfaces to enable an ecosystem. Multiple divisions doing their own thing, high performance and high quality, but then trying to bolt components together into a system as an afterthought. I've worked in test equipment design and the Victron stuff reminds me of old school test equipment. Wow thanks Rob! Architecturally, I like the Pico approach hands down. On your mammoth 400Ah bank, this is probably all lost in the noise, but when I have my van sitting for months in the winter with no solar input, I put my Pico on power off mode, it still logs/calculates SoC but has basically no measurable impact on the battery, which is nice. but the measurements on the Pico have always been in line with what I'd expect, they are consistent with time and conditions. I guess I can't say that 100% unless/until I really had a good way to compare, and I just don't. That said, as far as I can tell, the Pico is doing the job spot on. Given Victron's long history and reputation, I wouldn't be surprised if the Victron is more accurate with SoC calculation if you could really accurately measure and compare each. So a single BMV with high res monitoring draws twice what the Pico does. Victron BMV-702 -> 10mA (high resolution), 4mA (low resolution)Ĭolor Control GX -> 140 mA (display off) - 240 mA (max brightness) SCQ25T (4 shunts, 4 voltage inputs, 4 resistance inputs) -> 3.5mA SC301 (300a shunt, 2 voltage inputs, 1 resistive input) ->. Stand by, wifi off, 0% illumination -> 18mA Operating, wifi off, 70% illumination -> 35mA Operating, wifi on, 100% illumination -> 90mA To insure the most accurate blood pressure reading and monitoring, a patient must consult with a physician.BTW, it's worth looking at the Product Portfolio, and here's some takeaways that highlight the benefits of Simarine's approach WRT power consumption. #Pico battery monitor freeAccuracy is only achieved when a monitor is maintained and recalibrated, and the free devices in retail outlets may not be serviced regularly, making the results questionable. Both of these apps are designed to supplement regular monitoring from a physician.Īlthough some chain drugstores offer free blood pressure monitors, the Mayo Clinic advises that not all free blood pressure monitors are accurate. The Smart Blood Pressure BP Tracker features the ability to record, track, analyze and share blood pressure information using Apple products, such as an iPhone or iPad. The Blood Pressure Monitor – Family Lite offers several features, such as scrollable charts, warnings when blood pressure exceeds the healthy range, and a configurable input page. The American Heart Association stresses that these are intended to supplement, not replace, regular monitoring from a physician.Īs of 2015, monitors available at no charge through the iTunes app store include the Blood Pressure Monitor – Family Lite by Taconic System, and the Smart Blood Pressure BP Tracker by Evolve Medical Systems. The American Heart Association offers two free ways to monitor blood pressure at home: a printable blood pressure tracker and the Heart360 Online Tracker. ![]()
